PlayStation 5 (English: PlayStation 5, or PS5 for short; Japanese: プレイステーション5?) is a video game platform developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Announced as the successor to the PlayStation 4 on October 8, 2019, the device was released on November 12, 2020, in North America, Oceania, Japan, and South Korea.and on November 19, 2020, for the rest of the rest of the world, including the Middle East, but excluding China. It is the fifth video game system produced by Sony after the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 1 systems.
